China Chamber of Commerce for I&E of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-products (CFNA) is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Commerce, China. It was established in Beijing in 1988 and is responsible for coordinating the domestic and international markets of agricultural products (cereals, oils, foodstuffs, spices, forestry, vegetables and fruits, aquatic products, livestock products, etc.). It has 49 associations, including China Spice Association (CSA).

CSA was established in June 2016, the main coordinated products include various natural spices such as pepper, star anise, cinnamon, chili, onion, garlic, Chinese prickly ash, dried ginger, clove, fennel, vanilla, cardamom, turmeric, vanilla, and deep processed spices, dehydrated vegetables, composite seasoning, prefabricated seasoning bags, prefabricated food, etc.

CSA has worked on spices as early as 1998:

1. From 1998 to 2016, held three national pepper conferences in Hainan, participated in four International Pepper Community (IPC) forums, and jointly organized the Shanghai Pepper Commercial Forum with IPC.

2. In 2015, held a conference on the star anise and cinnamon industries in Wuzhou, Guangxi, and established a coordination mechanism for the star anise and cinnamon industries.

3. In June 2016, held the "1st 2016 China Spice Conference" in Bo’ao city, Hainan province. More than 150 representatives attended the conference, including more than 40 foreign guests.

4. In October 2017, held the "2nd 2017 China Spice Conference" in Qingdao city, Shangdong province, with more than 160 representatives attending, including more than 30 foreign guests.

5. In November 2018, held the "3rd 2018 China Spice Conference" in Wuxi city, Jiangsu province, with more than 180 representatives attending, including more than 40 foreign guests.

6. In June 2019, CSA organized 45 delegates to visit Turkey to study the herbs industry.

7. In November 2019, CSA organized 30 delegates to join IPC Annual Meeting in Vietnam.

8. In November 2019, CSA held the "4th 2019 China Spice Conference" in Nanjing city, Jiangsu province, with more than 220 representatives present, including more than 60 foreign guests.

9. In November 2020, CSA held the "5th 2020 China Spice Conference" in Yangling city, Shaanxi province, with 200 representatives present. Due to the epidemic, there were no foreign guests present, but about half of the speeches are from international market.

10. In December 2021, CSA held the "6th 2021 China Spice Conference" in Chengdu city, Sichuan province, with 220 representatives present. Also no foreign guests but international speeches were maintained.

11. In November 2022, CSA held the "7th 2022 China Spice Conference" in Yulin city, Guangxi province with over 250 representatives present. International speeches were maintained.

12. In September 2023, CSA held the “8th 2023 China Spice Conference” in Laoling city, Shangdong province with over 350 representatives present, including more than 50 foreign delegates.

13. In September 2023, CSA held the 1st Yulin Spice Expo, with more than 100 booths and a topic forum for seasoning industry development.

14. In May 2024, CSA held Laoling Spice Expo, in Shangdong province, with nearly 20000 sqm exhibition area, 3 forums, and field visits to local factories.

15. In November 2024, CSA held the “9th 2024 China Spice Conference” in Shanghai, with over 250 representatives present, including more than 50 foreign delegates.

16. In November 2024, CSA held the 2nd Yulin Spice Expo, with more than 150 booths and a topic forum for seasoning industry development.

17. Nov.3-4, 2025, CSA will host the 3rd Yulin Spice Expo.

18. Nov.5-8, 2025, CSA will host the 10th 2025 China Spice Conference in Chongqing city.

CSA also welcomes all companies to participate in industry activities such as standard formulation, industry conferences, spice exhibition, market visits, supply and demand meetings, international exchanges, etc., and let us contribute to the development of spice industry together!
